“Te voglio bene assai, ma tanto tanto bene sai. E una catena ormai, che scioglie il sangue dint’e’vene sai…” (Lucio Dalla)
The above quote is a very popular Italian song that means I love you a lot. I chose it for this blog because; it was playing when I walked into The Ritz for the closing gala for the ICFF. The Italian Contemporary Film Festival ended with a bang. It was spectacular.
Friday June 19th 2015 was an elegant, classy and tasteful night. Italian music, Italian food and I got to meet celebrity chef Massimo Capra. As soon as I walked into The Ritz, I fell in love. It is beautiful and takes your breath away. I felt so honored to have been invited to such an amazing night. AND I had goosebumps all night as I walked around watching the crowd.
I was so proud to see how people enjoyed all the Italian food, celebrating Italian culture, cinema and music. Eduardo Leo, the actor in Noi e la Giulia accepted the award for the People’s Choice Award for the movie. The finalists of the ICFF Fashion school in collaboration with Ryerson University made an appearance. Misha Barton, Andrea Iervolino and Monika Barcardi also attended. BUT best of all, I got to EAT, DRINK and DANCE. It was a perfect Friday night.
There was so much food and wine. LOL. It looked like my big fat Italian wedding. Ha-ha. The whole night was perfection and everyone involved deserves much praise. Congratulations, to the ICFF for making such a presence in Canada. I cannot wait until next year, as I am told the opening night party is just as incredible!!!! I think it was Madonna who said this: “Italians do it better.” LOL. I am a very proud Italian-Canadian girl and I really hope you all experience this event next year in June.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you once again to Clutch PR, and all the amazing sponsors for bringing Italian cinema to Toronto. Italian Heritage month is now my favorite month. LOL.
On that note, I would like to end this blog by saying, I feel so grateful to my parents for teaching me such an amazing language. I really want to go to Italy now…LOL. Thank you, ICFF you put that idea in this stubborn Calabrese/Napolitana’s girl head now.
Until next time boys and girls…”remember, to always just be yourself, it will eventually one day pay off…” CHECK OUT MY PHOTO’s FROM THE RITZ BABY!!!!! And I had to wear an Italian designer, so my shoes are from one of my favorite Italian designers, CESARE CASADEI. CHEERS EVERYONE!!!!!
