On October 27th 2015 I experienced an event that gave me goosebumps. I came out of this event feeling proud, satisfied and content that a charity event such as this exists. Eat to the Beat is an event that raises money for Willow Breast & Hereditary Cancer. It is about helping everyone, from the individual diagnosed to helping family & caregivers cope.
Celebrating 20 years, this event is breathtaking. As soon as you enter Roy Thompson Hall, you feel the magic begin. Music, Wine, incredible décor, and 60 of Toronto’s finest female chefs are all waiting to greet you. I knew I was going to be the happiest girl in the world that night, as the first thing that caught my eye was Starbucks Canada. Offering recyclable cups to guests, Starbucks made me light up Roy Thompson Hall. (Ha-ha)
With so many options on Food & Wine, I did not want to leave. For the first time in my life, I wanted to stay the whole night at an event and not once did the idea of going home and putting on my PJ’s cross my mind. I could not get enough. I even purchased a 20$ mystery bag that included items such as perfume by Gucci, Jam, a cutting board, and so much more. My Dad even was happy when I arrived home. When I gave him the cutting board, he lit up saying, “this is great to cut the soppressata.” LOL. So, now you know that Eat to the Beat is worth attending in the future. It made two stubborn Italians happy.
This year Eat to the Beat raised over $217,000 for Willow Breast & Hereditary Support. I am proud of this event as the money goes to organizations that provide free support, insight and information to anyone. All of the staff and volunteers at Willow have been personally affected by cancer. As I mentioned in my opening paragraph, this event gave me goosebumps. When you are affected by an illness sometimes support can make the biggest impact on an individual. With that being said, I was honored to be a part of such a great night. I am grateful that I had an opportunity to experience such a fantastic event. It reminded me that sometimes good people exist and seeing everyone come together to help such a fantastic cause is incredible.
Next October make sure to get a ticket to this event. Buy a mystery bag, go hungry and get ready to experience one of Toronto’s finest charity events. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for my invite Mr. Ashworth, I cannot say enough great things about Eat to the Beat. See you next year!
Until next time boys and girls remember to always just be yourself it will eventually one day pay off. AND NOW, I am so excited to show you my pictures from my night at Eat to The Beat.
